Fisherman's Wharf is throwing the ultimate celebration this October.  Wharf Fest, a free festival on October 26 and 27 will celebrate the rich history and legacy of San Francisco's historic waterfront district; the festival also marks local milestones, such as PIER 39's 35th Anniversary and the 50th Anniversary of Hyde Street Pier's public opening.  Enjoy live music, food and wine, art, craft beer tasting, a chef's demonstration kitchen, children's activities and rides, and much more.

On Saturday, October 26 there will be a chowder competition battling for the title of Best Fisherman's Wharf Chowder. Contestants will range from classic establishments such as Bistro Boudin, Alioto's Restaurant and Fisherman's Grotto #9 , as well as new Wharf restaurants.  The evening will be topped off with a screening of the award-winning films from last year's San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival at the Bay Theater and a spectacular fireworks show at PIER 39.

One Big Party. Wharf Fest family-friendly entertainment will extend throughout Fisherman's Wharf, on Jefferson and Beach Streets from Ghirardelli Square to PIER 39. Several blocks of Jefferson Street will be closed for pedestrian-only access and special exhibitors which will include Fisherman's Wharf merchants, local artists as well as seafood restaurants.
