San Francisco’s iconic restaurant, Schroeder’s, recently reopened after a complete remodel and update.  The completion of the renovation was greatly anticipated by foodies throughout the city and helps to update and modernize the 120-year old German restaurant.

Patrons will notice the updates as soon as they walk in the door at Schroeder’s.  It is a nice mix of vintage and modern; the restaurant has retained its centerpiece rosewood bar, original millwork, and historic murals and steins while updating floors, communal furnishings, and lighting throughout. The result is a dining experience which is much lighter and brighter while still retaining its old-world charm. SF EATER covered the opening and has some excellent photos of the remodel here.

The opening of Schroeder’s will boast new food and bar menus with something to please everyone, from the traditionalist to those who enjoy Cal-German culinary innovations. The communal beer garden setting will offer a wonderful dining and social experience while patrons eat, drink, engage and relax.  Well done, Schroeder’s.

See what they are saying about the new Schroeder’s:

Schroeder's is looking awesome after the reboot. I've hoisted steins in Munich and I've floated on rivers of beer during Oktoberfest. There's something deeply satisfying about the interplay of roasted pork, tangy cabbage, ice-cold beer, and polka jams. Schroeder's SF honors that tradition and delivers.Chris S.

I admit I have a soft spot for Schroeder’s and was a little apprehensive about the reboot, but the new space is a great mix of old and new.  The bar is as fun as ever, and now it is place where the food isn't only edible, but really good!  SF needs more German restaurants and this is a great addition to the FiDi happy hour, dinner and lunch scene.  I've only eaten there once so I'll reserve the fifth star for now but I'm so glad it's back!Paul L.
