Celebrate Independence Day along the San Francisco Waterfront. When the sun goes down (and if the fog stays away), everyone will enjoy The City of San Francisco’s spectacular fireworks display over the Bay. The 2013 Fourth of July Fireworks show will launch from the foot of Municipal Pier and from barges north of Pier 39. San Francisco’s elaborate firework display has an array of amazing vantage points, but (thanks to The San Francisco Travel Association) find five top locations to see the rockets red-glare:
1. Ghirardelli Square/ Fisherman’s Wharf (More Information)
2. Pier 39 (More Information)
3. A Firework Bay Cruise aboard a Blue and Gold Fleet ferry (Tickets Available Here)
4. Twin Peaks
5. Tank Hill
Note: Twin Peaks and Tank Hill require clear skies for viewing.
Additional places to view the spectacular site are Aquatic Park (Jefferson and Hyde streets), the Cannery and Coit Tower.
America's Cup "Summer of Racing" also kicks off July 4 and includes three months of hard-fought competition, concerts, and more (link back to our blog). Noon on July 4th marks America’s Cup Park Grand Opening and at 3pm the Opening Ceremony will commence in the America's Cup Pavilion on Pier 27/29.
